Mahaz Welcomes Bruce Riedel`s Kashmir Proposal

Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi(MeA) President Mir Mohammad Iqbal in a statement has hailed the proposal of Bruce Riedel- Obama`s election campaign advisor in his recently published book, urged Washington to help resolve the Kashmir and only then can influence the decline of upcoming challenges. The excerpt of proposal of Bruce Riedel`s book is as : “The first step towards the Kashmir solution will have to be the withdrawal of all military and paramilitary forces from the Jammu and Kashmir. India and Pakistan can take this step on their own without any legal or political hurdles,” he said. Bruce said, “India should withdraw her forces from J&K and Pakistan too should withdraw its troops from its administered Kashmir. The withdrawal of military and paramilitary forces from both parts will have to be simultaneous. After all military and paramilitary forces leave the whole of the state, India and Pakistan should take several steps independently to remove internal tensions and create calmness. There should be a cooling-off period after the withdrawal of all military, paramilitary and armed personnel, with no political activity anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. The second step would be that the local executive will maintain the law and order situation in the whole Kashmir. No side will allow any violence of any type. The third step would be that all efforts will be concentrated on rehabilitation and reconstruction, as the people pick up the thread of their lives. India and Pakistan should provide all possible assistance to the territory of the state under their control and both the countries will need to collaborate with each other for a solution.” MeA has already given the recommendations for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir three years back, if given a practical shape can be a big step for the durable solution of Kashmir but not the ultimate ,Mir Said.

President Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi(MeA) Mir Mohammad Iqbal in an avowal has welcomed the statement of Canadian foreign minister Laurence Cannon for resolving Kashmir Issue through negotiable dialogue process . Of course Kashmir is the nuclear flash point between Indian and Pakistan-without its peaceful resolution, peace can not be restored in the region : it is the high time for both the countries of the sub-continent to give a new thinking to their political attitudes towards Kashmir and Kashmiris, Iqbal said. MeA president maintained that Kashmir is more human than political ,therefore the wishes of the ordinary people of Jammu Kashmir must be addressed and taken care of. Meanwhile Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir peoples League and Executive member APHC Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said that the affirmation issued by Laurence Cannon, Canadian foreign minister is indicative of the fact that civilized world wants to create a conducive and opinionated atmosphere between two nuclear powers of the sub-continent (India-Pakistan) who are presently at political crossroads. The money which is drained in the name of security ,if consumed for the developmental purposes can elevate the mediocre people of both countries- whose number is above 65 million and are living in shabby condition - socially ,politically and economically , will usher a new era of prosperity in South Asia , Mukhtar said. Waza maintained that while going for the solution of Kashmir , the sentiments, whishes and aspirations of people of Jammu Kashmir must be respected. In the meantime Senior Muslim Conference leader and Chief office superintendent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Shabir Ahmad Dar has also given a positive acknowledgment to the statement of Canadian foreign minister Laurence Cannon. If we talk of peace between India and Pakistan then it is mandatory to resolve all the pending issues and issues can be cracked to simple if the core issue is given prominence –which hereafter should be Kashmir resolution : no matter prosperity lies in peace to achieve it :the leadership of India and Pakistan must develop a sense of seriousness, which at present is the prime requisite, Dar said.

Mahaz-e-Azadi Convenes a scheduled weekly meeting in Srinagar

Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) convened a weekly meeting at Party headquarters Srinagar presided by its president Mir Mohammad Iqbal , in which fast changing political and economic scenario of world particularly Asia were discussed at a stretch. MeA uttered satisfaction over the tour of erstwhile President of Pakistan Retired General Parvaiz Musharraf and his avowals were highly praised particularly one: in which he said that no peace in South Asia is possible unless and until the core issue of region ;which is the bone of contention between two countries of Sub -continent “Kashmir Imbroglio ” will not be addressed seriously . In the meeting it was again revealed that the programme and slogan given by MeA Patron Mohammad Azam Inquilbai –“ Dewari Berlin Tood Do….. Apna Kashmir Jood Do!” [ Smash away the Berlin Wall (LOC divining two Kashmirs) and let`s rejoin them again]all senior party workers present were urged to transcend the slogan to the ground level and utilize all the relevant resources available with them, and it was unanimously decided that all the CBMs between Indian and Pakistan will prove hallow ,if LOC is not broken away . At last a motion was moved in the get-together that no peace is possible in the region if Kashmir remains unresolved -it is its resolution which can usher the new era of development in South Asia President MeA , Mir Mohammad Iqbal Said.

The Human Rights & Terrorism` seminar to be held in Geneva

. International Educational Development (IED), an NGO accredited with the United Nations Economic & Social Council (ECOSOC) is organizing a Seminar, entitled, “The Human Rights & Terrorism” on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the United Nations headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland. The event is o-sponsored by IHRAAM, IIFSO and WMC.“For many years there has been a great deal of concern, that the so-called war against terrorism has illegally encroached on fundamental principal of international law, such as the right to self-determination, fundamental principal of human rights relating to the rights of accused and detained persons, and humanitarian (armed conflict) law in general. The law suits and other actions have been undertaken in many countries and regional forums due to domestic "anti-terrorism" laws that human rights defenders view as serious if not severe violations of protected rights. This seminar seeks to arrive at useful recommendations, based on information and dialogue, that can help the international community as a whole get back on track addressing actual terrorism threats, and to restore humanitarian law review of armed conflicts, and the rights of all persons accused of crimes,” said Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, delegate of IED at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.

MeA condemns use of force on Kashmiri protestors
Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi(MeA) President Mir Mohammad Iqbal in a statement has strongly condemned the use of force on peaceful protestors in Srinager on Friday in which at least three dozen civilians were injured some of them critically. We sturdily slam the cowardice act rendered by Indian armed forces resorting to the firing in which a Kashmiri youth aged 17 years was killed brutally , however his martyrdom will add more resolute to the Kashmiri freedom struggle - which will continue till to the logical conclusion as per the wishes and aspirations of common stock of people of Jammu Kashmir , Mir Said. President Mir Mohammad Iqbal maintained that the statement of Anil Ambani, heading the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group (ADAG), who has expressed confidence that solution could emerge to the vexed Kashmir row only through a negotiated settlement is apt and wise which can be termed as noticeable avowal.

Mahaz Media cell 4th March 2009: An extraordinary meeting of Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) was convened at party headquarters Srinagar chaired its President Mir Mohammad Iqbal in which expound discussions were held on present world scenario in contrast with Kashmir imbroglio.
