Elections have no bearing on the nature of the dispute: Mahaz

Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) in a statement has strongly condemned to convertinad Umer fthe continued house arrest of Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umer faroow, Nayeem Khan, Saleem Geelani whole of the North Kashmir into a complete military garrison, were they are staging another phase of ‘forced democracy.’ “We are never against, democratic process, but to hold elections in disputed territory the process as per internal de-jure becomes farcical, therefore MeA rejects these sham elections,” said Mir Mohammad Iqbal, President MeA, adds ,”We are ready to participate in democratic discourses under UN supervision , if meant to solve the vexed issue of Kashmir.”
President MeA reiterated that in spite of elections from 1952 to 2009, three wars between India and Pakistan happened, so these so-called elections have no bearing on the nature of the dispute. MeA maintains that best way to register the democratic protest against these sham elections is to- stay away from the process, thus people of north Kashmir are urged to remain aloof from self-styled parliamentary elections in Kashmir and remain cautious against those unscrupulous elements, who in the name of pro-Kashmir slogans are trying to mesmerize naive people fallaciously .
