On going freedom movement will continue till to the cherished goal ‘Freedom’:Mahaz

Mahaz Media Cell:President Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi Mir Mohammad Iqbal in a statement said that rightly Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi(MeA) couldn’t be observed on 7th May ,its raising day - MeA was stipulated on this day in 1977, under the dynamic leadership of Sofi Mohammad Akber at the same time, it is also true that due to uncertain political situation every activity got halted .
Any way in view of 7th May (raising day) , MeA has decided to observe it in a simple way that too on 16th May 2009 at Rajbagh Office , people who are wedded with MeA called Mahazis` have assembled with the pledge and resolve that the on going freedom movement will continue till to the cherished goal , “Freedom”-in South Asia peace can only be restored ,if Kashmir issue is resolved peacefully as per the wishes, desires ,aspirations and sentiments of common stock of people of Jammu Kashmir,Iqbal said:“ Patron MeA Mohammad Azam Inqulabi in last year’s raising day propounded the roadmap for the acceptable and durable solution of Kashmir - the view point- for the those who are at the helm of affairs in Pakistan and India having objective thinking must literally accept the proposal ;now the question is that will the proposal will be given practical shape, which matters!”

So, will this nation be forced to surrender -no absolutely not !

Anti-polls strike, demos in occupied Kashmir

In occupied Kashmir, the fifth and the last phase of Indian parliamentary elections, today, was marked with complete protest strike and anti-polls demonstrations. A large number of people took to the streets with anti-election slogans at Bomai in Sopore and in Baramulla while Indian police personnel subjected the protestors in Wetrigam and Bandipore to brute force arresting several of them.
Thousands of policemen and paramilitary troopers wearing bulletproof jackets and carrying assault rifles marched the deserted streets of Srinagar and other towns of the valley. The troops had erected the barricades and laid concertina wires to foil anti-election protests.
A very low turnout was recorded in Sopore, Bomai, Baramulla, Pattan, Palhalan, Magaam, Wetrigam and Bandipore. Indian troops forcibly herded people towards the polling booths at Lalpora and Tikkipora in Lolab, Saihepora in Handwara and Brat in Sopore. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar, said that farcical polls were meaningless and irrelevant in the presence of seven hundred thousand occupation troops and after placing Hurriyet leaders in detention and house arrest. Besides the APHC Chairman, several other pro-freedom leaders continue to remain under stringent house arrest.

Lest We Forget/By Waseem Shah

May 8 reminds us one the darkest and bloodiest day in the Kashmir’s history of occupation and suppression. It was on this day in the year 1991 that about 29 innocent people were brutally martyred by C.R.P.F near martyr’s graveyard Khnayar, when a funeral procession of 3 local militants killed in an encounter was going on, trigger happy C.R.P.F personnel run amok and fired indiscriminately at the people adding another day in the long list of bloody massacres in Kashmir.

Kashmir’s history is full of such acts were humanity was putted to shame and these are in no way acts of human rights violation but war crimes committed as to spread fear psychosis among people of Kashmir demanding their inherent, pledged, fully deserved and unfettered right of self determination. And it is the denial of this basic right by which peace has eluded and the rein of uncertainty is prevailing in the sub-continent.

It is due to the supreme sacrifices offered by lakhs of Kashmiris who gave their red hot blood which took this dispute from cold storage and highlighted it in international arena. Conscious and valiant people of Kashmir will never allow letting these sacrifices go waste. Sagacity and prudence demands resolving this vexed issue in tune with the national aspirations of Kashmiris otherwise its inherent potential can destabilize the peace of whole South Asia.

President MeA maintained that Kashmir being the nuclear flash point in the region ,if remains unresolved can invite another combat rather a full scale nuclear war-a manmade catastrophe- therefore to guarantee peace in South Asia, it is obligatory for Pakistan and India to resolve the issue for their own benefits and interests .
